The RAD USA Dance Challenge is a uniquely formatted competition specifically for RAD trained students who may aspire to compete in the Royal Academy of Dance’s flagship event, the Genée International Ballet Competition. In this elite competition, dancers up to the age of 19 will compete for scholarships and cash awards.

The event will be hosted in two US cities, January 21 & 22 in Long Beach, CA and February 11 & 12 in Baltimore, MD. Teaching workshops that are RAD CPD time-valued will be held in conjunction with the student competitions.

The competition which will take place over two days is multi-level and is open to students who are currently training with an RAD Registered Teacher.

On Saturday, students will take two classes focusing on technique and artistry followed by a coaching session for competitors who are performing a solo. On Sunday, competitors in four levels will perform a ballet solo or ensemble piece choreographed by their RAD teacher. Each level will be judged separately and at the end two solo winners per level, and one Ensemble plus one Grand Prize winner per location will be announced.
