RAD USA News
The summer of 2017 will see a trial of the project with three CPD workshops, two in the UK and one in the US. Places are limited, but applications are open to both RAD registered teachers, and dance teachers with proven ballet teaching experience.
Teachers on the pilot will be entitled to deliver Silver Swans branded classes from September 2017 to August 2018. During this time, we will work with pilot participants to refine the initiative for a roll-out beyond this.
Our launch partners for the US launch are Dance Teacher Web. They will be running a session at their Dance Teacher Web Live conference on 24 July 2017 in Las Vegas.
Find out more information about the program and book onto one of our CPD workshops on our Silver Swans Teacher Training and Licensing page.
The Royal Academy of Dance USA is delighted to announce the 2017 Dance Challenge. This elite competition is specifically for RAD trained students who may aspire to compete in the Royal Academy of Dance’s flagship event, the Genée International Ballet Competition. Dancers up to the age of 19 will compete for scholarships and cash awards.
The event will be hosted in two US cities, January 21 & 22 in Long Beach, CA and February 11 & 12 in Baltimore, MD and will take place over two days.
Students will take two classes followed by a Solos coaching session on Saturday. On Sunday, competitors in four levels will perform a ballet solo or ensemble piece choreographed by their RAD teacher. Each level will be judged separately and at the end prizes will be awarded to two Soloists and one Ensemble per level plus one Grand Prize winner per location will be announced.
Boston Conservatory at Berklee will become the first performing arts institution in the United States to offer students a ballet teaching qualification in partnership with the Royal Academy of Dance. Learn more »
